LEANDER - Southwest Coast

The Leander isn't your grand, sprawling cargo ship, but for a yacht wreck, it really delivers. Resting in just 16 metres, this lead-keeled beauty is perfect for a relaxed second dive or anyone who loves a bit of history with their reef. We’ve always found its story adds a layer of charm – imagining Mrs. Bernard from St. Lucia losing her prized vessel. What you get here is a remarkably intact silhouette, still very much looking like a boat, just one that decided to settle on the seabed. There's enough structure to poke around the deck, peer into the cabin spaces, and imagine what it once was. We love the way the light filters through the clear Caribbean water, dappling across the barnacle-encrusted hull. Schools of jacks often cruise overhead, and we’ve spotted moray eels peeking out from beneath the fallen mast. It's a gentle dive, never strong currents, and always something new catching our eye as the reef steadily reclaims it. If you’re looking for a peaceful wreck dive, accessible to most, the Leander is one of our favourites on Grenada's southwest coast.
