Sandals Royal Caribbean - Negril
The team at Sandals Royal Caribbean run a smooth, efficient operation, which, let’s be honest, is exactly what you want from a resort dive centre. They’re a PADI 5 Star outfit, good for anyone looking to get certified in warm water or just clock some easy, relaxing dives without too much fuss. We think they’re especially well-suited for divers travelling with non-diving partners, as the topside amenities keep everyone happy while you’re out exploring the reefs. Our pick from their regular schedule is usually the morning trip out to the Arches, a site that often surprises first-timers. Drifting through those limestone swim-throughs with the sunlight dappling down, you’ll often find nurse sharks resting in the shadows. Keep an eye out for big channel clinging crabs tucked into the crevices too. Visibility averages around 15-20 metres, and the water is always bathwater warm, usually 28°C. They do run a couple of afternoon dives and night dives too, which we’d suggest trying if you get the chance – the reef transforms once the sun goes down, and you’ll see lobsters out foraging and sleeping parrotfish tucked into the coral. It’s a solid, dependable choice for resort diving.
