Sand Patch - Kadavu & Great Astrolabe Reef

Sand Patch, despite its unassuming name, offers a quiet pleasure for those who appreciate the smaller details. We’ve spent many a dive here, gently finning over the sandy bottom, spotting gobies peering from their burrows, and occasionally finding a well-camouflaged flatworm or a juvenile lionfish tucked into a coral bommie. It’s a perfect spot to hone your macro photography skills, or just relax and enjoy the slower pace. No dramatic drop-offs or roaring currents here, just a gentle 17-meter depth that makes it ideal for beginner divers or those looking for a calm, easy second dive.
