The Labyrinth - Kadavu & Great Astrolabe Reef

The Labyrinth on Kadavu’s Great Astrolabe Reef is exactly what it sounds like – a maze of swim-throughs and small caves that you can spend a fair bit of a dive exploring. At a maximum depth of 17 metres, it’s not particularly deep, which gives you good bottom time to navigate the nooks and crannies. We usually find smaller reef fish darting in and out of the darker spaces, and the light play when the sun hits the entrances is quite pretty. It’s a good choice for intermediate divers who enjoy a bit of exploration without the commitment of a truly deep or challenging cavern dive. We think it’s best when the sun is high, around midday, to really appreciate those shafts of light.
