Tsunami Scuba-Hansen - Okinawa Main Island

The team at Tsunami Scuba-Hansen are a truly friendly bunch, which always makes a difference. They’re based right on Camp Hansen, making them super convenient if you’re stationed there or just visiting the northern part of Okinawa. What we really love about them is their consistent boat schedule; they run trips virtually every day, often hitting up some of the quieter sites further north that other shops might overlook. Think less crowded dive boats and more time exploring spots like Manza Dream Hole or the deeper walls off Cape Hedo, if conditions allow. They’re a PADI 5-star centre, so you can do everything from your Open Water up to more advanced specialties. We’ve found their instructors to be really patient and knowledgeable, especially with newer divers getting comfortable in the often-variable Okinawan currents. They're definitely geared towards making diving accessible and fun for the base community, but they welcome everyone. Our favourite trips with them have been the weekday morning dives, when you practically have the ocean to yourselves, watching green sea turtles graze unbothered and schools of snapper drift by.
