Seogwipo Harbor - Jeju Island

Seogwipo Harbor is one of those spots that often gets overlooked, but we’re here to tell you, it’s worth a dive. Forget sprawling coral gardens; this is urban diving done right, an artificial reef system that absolutely buzzes. We love the quirky mix of marine life thriving amongst the ropes, tires, and concrete blocks. You’ll find Pacific herring schooling in silver clouds, and if you’ve got a keen eye, the Flat-faced seahorse clinging to bits of line – they’re our favourite residents here. The visibility can be a bit variable, especially after a good rain, but on a calm day, it’s surprisingly clear. Keep an eye out for red-banded lobsters tucked into crevices and the occasional Green Turtle cruising through. It’s a photographer’s delight for macro subjects; the Banded Cleaner Shrimp and Fat-handed snapping shrimp are always busy. We'd suggest going in the morning before boat traffic really picks up. It’s a comfortable, shallow dive, perfect for divers who appreciate the resilience of marine life and enjoy a treasure hunt feel.
