SELANGAN - Jeju Island

Selangan isn't your typical colourful reef dive, but we love it for its moody, almost solemn character. This old motor vessel, which went down back in '76, offers a genuinely atmospheric wreck experience. She lies upright, more or less, at around 36 metres, and while the structure itself is pretty broken up, it’s still very clearly a ship. You'll spend your bottom time navigating the scattered remains, peeking into what would have been the engine room, and feeling the weight of the history here. What makes Selangan really special, though, is how nature has completely taken over. We’ve seen incredible densities of colourful soft corals clinging to every surface, transforming the metal into a living canvas. Think clouds of small, shimmering fish darting in and out of the openings, and a surprising amount of macro life if you look closely. It’s a dive for those who appreciate the quiet beauty of a wreck reclaiming its own, rather than a busy coral garden. We'd suggest this for experienced divers comfortable with deeper profiles and, ideally, those who appreciate a bit of wreck penetration if conditions allow. Visibility can vary, so pick a calm day for the best experience.
