Boat rides out are usually short, and we’ve often found ourselves on reefs like the Banc des Fusiliers with just our small group. Picture schools of fusiliers so thick they actually dim the light, a shimmering silver curtain. Or drifting along a wall, watching for ribbon eels poking out. We always suggest asking about their morning dives to the deeper pinnacles – that's often when you’ll catch the bigger pelagics passing through, like the occasional reef shark or a cruising eagle ray. Current can pick up a bit on some of these sites, so it’s good to have a few dives under your belt. They don’t rent equipment, so remember to pack your own gear.
