Even outside that window, the Baa Atoll teems with reef sharks patrolling the thilas, and the healthy hard corals are a vibrant backdrop for schools of snapper and fusiliers. We’d suggest an early morning start if you can manage it; the light filtering through the water as the reef awakens is just magical, and you often beat the crowds to the prime spots. Expect drift dives here, the currents can be lively, but the guides are excellent at reading the water and positioning the boat.
