With 148+ marine species recorded in the area - including blacktip reef sharks, sea turtles and whale sharks - Filitheyo Thila offers some of South Ari Atoll's richest pinnacle diving. Water ranges 29-31°C, warmest April, May, July.
Filitheyo Thila is a decent little pinnacle, a good option if you’re diving the South Ari. It drops to about 28 metres, so it’s one for the intermediate divers, especially if the current picks up a bit. We’ve found it can be pretty active here, with grey reef sharks often patrolling the edges and schools of fusiliers swirling above the coral blocks. Look into the overhangs for sleeping nurse sharks and the occasional stingray. It’s not an all-day spectacle, but it’s a solid dive for a relaxed afternoon.
