With 100+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, sea turtles, spinner dolphins and whale sharks - Guradoo Kuda Kandu offers some of South Malé Atoll's richest drift diving. Water ranges 28-31°C, warmest April, May, July.
Drifting through Guradoo Kuda Kandu usually means a gentle glide, making it a good choice for newer drift divers in South Malé. We've often found ourselves eye-level with the reef here, spotting patches of larger star coral and wrinkle coral that cling to the channel edges. Keep an eye out for the small crabs like *Leptodius sanguineus* scuttling across the seabed-they’re surprisingly active. It’s a comfortable dive, pleasant for those who prefer observation over high-speed action, offering a relaxed insight into the channel ecosystem without too much effort.
