With 100+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, sea turtles, spinner dolphins and whale sharks - Makunu Sidi offers some of South Malé Atoll's richest diving. Water ranges 28-31°C, warmest April, May, July.
Makunu Sidi offers a gentle introduction to Maldivian reef diving, rarely dropping below 25m. The reef here is a good place to spot smaller reef fish and occasional turtles cruising by. We've found it’s a calm site, making it a solid pick for newer divers looking to build confidence without strong currents. Expect a relaxed dive, rather than big thrills.
