Exploration Sous-Marine - Flic en Flac & West Coast

Exploration Sous-Marine is one of those sites we always try to hit when we're diving out of Flic en Flac. It’s got a real mix of everything, but our favourite part is always the wall. You drop down, and it just keeps going, draped in Staghorn and Branch corals. Look closely for the Hairy Scorpionfish, they’re masters of disguise here, blending right in with the coral. We've often seen Barracuda cruising the blue, and the smaller reef fish, like the Lunate Goldies and Cape Damsels, are everywhere, flashing their colours. What we love about this spot is how the light plays on the corals as you drift. It gives everything a really dynamic feel. It’s a great site for both macro and wide-angle photography. If you can, aim for a morning dive before the day boats really get going. You’ll find fewer divers and the light penetration tends to be better. It’s a good easy dive, suitable for most open water divers, with enough points of interest to keep even seasoned divers happy.
