CONQUEST - Cape Town & Western Cape

The *Conquest* holds a special place in our hearts, a classic Cape Town wreck dive. She went down in 1988, a fishing trawler that ran aground and then, after being pulled off, decided to sink in deeper water anyway. We love how she rests perfectly upright at 25m, practically begging you to explore her. Dropping down, the first thing you notice is the way the light filters through the superstructure. It’s got a real brooding, almost ghostly feel. You can poke around the wheelhouse, imagining the last moments, or swim along the deck where the fishing gear used to be. The *Conquest* is a proper invertebrate hotel now, covered in nudibranchs and anemones. We’ve often found octopus tucked into crevices, their eyes watching you pass. It’s a dive that rewards slow exploration, peering into every nook and cranny. For wreck lovers, this is a firm favourite, straightforward yet full of character.
