With 269+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, blue whales, dolphins, dwarf minke whales and great white sharks - Finlay's Deep offers some of Cape Town & Western Cape's richest diving. Water ranges 14-16°C, warmest February, March, April.
Finlay's Deep is one of those spots where you really feel the wildness of the South African coast. Dropping down past 25 metres, the water cools, and the light shifts to a deeper blue. We’ve found this area often attracts bigger pelagics, though you really need to keep an eye out into the blue. It’s a dive for advanced divers comfortable with deeper profiles and cooler conditions, definitely not a casual drift. Think expansive rather than intricate, and you’ll appreciate what Finlay’s Deep has to offer.
