Muizenberg trawler wrecks - Cape Town & Western Cape
The Muizenberg trawler wrecks aren't exactly on every Cape Town dive itinerary, but for those days when the Atlantic's playing rough, these Indian Ocean wrecks offer a decent alternative. We’re talking about a collection of old fishing trawlers, sunk deliberately we think, providing some fun navigation through their broken hulls and scattered debris. Schools of hottentot dart around the metal, and we've spotted some surprisingly colourful nudibranchs clinging to the rust. It’s a shallower dive, perfect for knocking out a couple of tanks, and a good spot for newer wreck divers to get a feel for overhead environments without too much commitment.
