Smits Reef - Cape Town & Western Cape
Smits Reef is a solid shore dive, accessible from the rocks near Cape Point. You'll often find it busy with local divers, and for good reason: it’s a reliable spot for seeing red roman, hottentot, and even the occasional shy shark tucked into the kelp. The topography is mostly granite boulders and kelp forests, creating plenty of hiding spots. It’s a good choice for newer divers looking for an easy entry and a chance to spot some of False Bay's resident fish without going too deep.
