With 269+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, blue whales, dolphins, dwarf minke whales and great white sharks - Sunfish Pinnacle offers some of Cape Town & Western Cape's richest pinnacle diving. Water ranges 14-16°C, warmest February, March, April.
Sunfish Pinnacle, true to its name, is where we often find the majestic Mola mola cruising by, especially in late summer. It's a striking granite pinnacle, rising from the depths, usually attracting pelagic species. We'd suggest this site for experienced divers comfortable with deeper profiles and potentially strong currents, as conditions can shift quickly. It’s a dive for those hoping for a big animal encounter rather than intricate reef exploration.
