With 269+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, blue whales, dolphins, dwarf minke whales and great white sharks - Western Deep offers some of Cape Town & Western Cape's richest diving. Water ranges 14-16°C, warmest February, March, April.
Western Deep is an advanced dive, often subject to strong surge and currents, so pick your day carefully. It’s a rocky reef, dropping down to around 30 meters, where we often spot gully sharks hiding in the crevices. Keep an eye out for octopus, too. This site is best for experienced divers comfortable with challenging conditions.
