Why dive here
With 312+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, blue-spotted stingrays, dolphins, eagle rays and hammerhead sharks - Pinnacle offers some of Zanzibar & Pemba's richest pinnacle diving. Water ranges 26-30°C, warmest February, March, April.
Zanzibar's Pinnacle is exactly what it sounds like, a standalone reef rising from the deeper water. We've found it a good spot for spotting some of the larger pelagics passing through, especially during the incoming tide. It’s a solid drift dive, usually with good visibility, making it well-suited for divers comfortable with current. We'd suggest it for those looking for something beyond a fringing reef.
