We love that they’re right there at Fumba Beach Lodge, making for some incredibly easy dive mornings, especially if you’re staying on-site. They’re our pick for divers who appreciate convenience without sacrificing good local knowledge. What really sets Fumba apart is their house reef, Ukombe. It’s a long stretch, about 8km, and it’s right on their doorstep. We’ve had some cracking dives there, often seeing turtles glide past, and the reef is surprisingly healthy with plenty of smaller reef fish darting between the hard corals. It’s a gentle introduction for those shaking off the rust, but still engaging enough for experienced divers looking for a couple of easy dives. The shore entry is straightforward, a real bonus for a relaxed afternoon dip. They also head out to more distant sites, but for sheer convenience and a pleasant reef experience, Ukombe is tough to beat.
