Dolini Roncsok

The Dolini Roncsok, nestled off the Istrian coast, isn't your typical wreck dive, and that's precisely why we love it. This isn't some pristine, upright vessel; it’s a scattering of history, pieces of a torpedo boat lying across the seabed. The way the light filters down through the Mediterranean blue, highlighting rusted plates and scattered machinery, makes it feel like you're exploring an archaeological dig. What truly makes Dolini special is the sense of discovery. You fin slowly over the debris field, picking out individual components – a prop shaft here, a section of hull there – each piece telling a silent story. Conger eels have made themselves at home within the larger sections, their heads peeking out from dark crevices, while schools of small damselfish flit around the metalwork. We always find ourselves drawn to the bow section, which lies somewhat detached, offering a fantastic opportunity to see how the sea has truly reclaimed this vessel. It’s a dive that rewards patience and a keen eye, perfect for those who appreciate history as much as marine life. We'd suggest going early; the visibility tends to be best before the midday boat traffic.
