Katedrala, Premuda Island - Istria Peninsula

Katedrala, or ‘The Cathedral,’ on Premuda Island, is a cool spot for divers comfortable with overhead environments. You drop down to about 30 meters, where a series of interconnected chambers and swim-throughs open up. Sunlight filters in from various openings above, creating these incredible light shafts that really do give it a cathedral-like feel, especially on a bright afternoon. We’ve seen octopuses tucked into crevices there, and plenty of nudibranchs if you slow down and look closely. It’s an intermediate dive, perfect if you’re looking for something a bit different from a standard wall or reef.
