Arnager Rev - Bornholm

Spur Reef is one of those GBR sites we’ve always enjoyed, a reliable favourite when the conditions are right. It’s a proper coral showcase, with huge, intricate staghorn coral formations that just beg for a slow, gentle drift. We like to drop in early, before the crowds, and let the current carry us over the impressive bommies, keeping an eye out for the flashes of yellow from the butterflyfish, particularly the limespot and lineated varieties. The real joy here is the sheer density of reef fish. You’ll be finning through schools of scaly pullers and dark-fin chromis, so thick they almost obscure the coral. Keep an eye on the sandy patches too; we’ve often spotted Kops’ tongue sole perfectly camouflaged. It’s a relaxing dive, well-suited to anyone who appreciates healthy coral and an abundance of colourful reef life, without the need for big pelagic encounters. Dive it on a calm day; the visibility really opens up those wide-angle opportunities.
