DANNEBROG (PART OF) - Bornholm

The Dannebrog wreck on Bornholm is a fantastic shallow dive, a real favourite of ours when we’re in the area. We love how accessible it is, sitting upright at just 10 metres, making it perfect for longer bottom times and less experienced divers. You can spend a good hour just exploring the bow section, where you’ll find the anchor chain draped over the side, now home to clouds of small blennies darting in and out of the links. The stern is more broken up, but you can still pick out the propeller shaft and rudder. The whole site is blanketed in a beautiful growth of dead man’s fingers coral and anemones, which really brings it to life. We always find schools of juvenile cod sheltering in the deeper parts of the hull, and if you look closely, crabs scuttling amongst the debris. It's a proper historical piece, sunk in 1900, and you can feel that sense of history as you fin over the deck plates. Keep an eye out for fishing line though; it’s a working area, and some bits get snagged.
