FEROCIA - Bornholm

Ferocia. Even the name sounds like a deep dive into the past, and she certainly delivers. This isn’t a shallow splash; at 46 meters, you’re committed to a proper technical dive, but the reward is a beautiful, intact wreck just begging to be explored. We love the way the light filters down through the Baltic’s green embrace, illuminating sections of the hull and superstructure. The motor vessel Ferocia went down in 1965, and in the decades since, she’s become a thriving artificial reef. You’ll find her upright and remarkably complete, a ghost ship holding court on the seabed. Our favourite part has to be the bridge area; it’s still very recognisable, and you can almost imagine the crew at their stations. Keep an eye out for cod and conger eels making their homes in the various holds and passageways. This site is a true treat for wreck enthusiasts comfortable with deeper profiles and the cooler waters of the Baltic. Dive this on a calm day, and the visibility can be surprisingly good, giving you plenty of time to appreciate the Ferocia’s stoic presence.
