FREMAD - Bornholm

The Fremad wreck off Bornholm is one of those sites we always recommend to divers who appreciate history and an eerie, atmospheric dive. She’s a steamship, and while the data tells us she’s a "dangerous wreck," that just adds to her charm – it means she’s been down there a while, gathering character. We love how her superstructure is still largely intact, a skeletal frame rising from the seabed at 20 meters. You can fin past the davits, imagine the lifeboats that once hung there, or peer into the cargo holds, now home to a surprising amount of cod and blennies. It’s an excellent dive for those comfortable with deeper wrecks and a bit of silty sediment. We find the visibility here can be decent, especially on a calm day, allowing you to really appreciate the scale of the vessel. Our favourite part? The way the light filters down through the Baltic’s green embrace, giving the whole scene a ghostly, captivating glow. Just remember to bring a good torch; there are plenty of nooks and crannies to explore.
