GUSTAV ADOLPH - Bornholm

The Gustav Adolph isn't just another wreck; it's a slice of history, sunk back in 1782, and we really love how well preserved it is for its age. Sitting upright at a comfortable 17 meters, it’s remarkably intact, making it perfect for divers who appreciate the story behind the metal. You can still see the cannons lined up, and the bow section has this amazing character, almost like it’s still cutting through water. What really stands out here is the atmosphere. The low visibility, typical of the Baltic, just adds to the drama, casting the wreck in this ghostly light. Schools of cod weave through the timbers, and we've spotted some impressively large flatfish camouflaged on the sandy bottom nearby. We always suggest getting here on a calm day; the entry can be a bit tricky if there’s any swell. The Gustav Adolph isn't about vibrant colours, it’s about exploration, history, and the quiet thrill of diving a relic from another century. It’s definitely our favourite dive on Bornholm for that exact reason.
