LISTER - Bornholm

The *Lister* is a proper Baltic wreck, resting upright at 43 metres off Bornholm. We love how intact she is, a trawler sunk after a collision in 2004, so she still feels like a ship rather than just a pile of scattered metal. Descending, you’ll first pick out the mast, then the wheelhouse and railings emerge from the gloom. It’s a bit of a surreal sight, seeing a fishing boat just sitting there as if waiting for its crew to return. Exploring the deck, you can peer into the holds, which are now home to some impressively large cod. We often find them just hovering, seemingly unfazed by divers. Visibility can be a bit variable up here in the Baltic, but when it's good, seeing those shadows move through the ship's structure is a truly atmospheric experience. Our favourite part is the stern, where the propeller still sits proud, often covered in anemones. This dive suits experienced wreck divers comfortable with depth and colder water. It’s a solid day trip and a good insight into Bornholm’s maritime past.
