MAY - Bornholm

Diving the MAY wreck off Bornholm offers a fascinating glimpse into history, even if it’s a relatively shallow dive at 13 meters. This old steamship lies broken but still holds a lot of character, with parts of the hull and superstructure providing plenty to poke around in. It’s certainly not a tropical reef, but for northern European diving, the wreck itself is the main draw. We’ve found plenty of local fish sheltering in the nooks and crannies, and the way the metal has corroded creates its own kind of beauty. It’s a good spot for divers keen on wreck penetration, though always exercise caution given its "dangerous wreck" classification. We’d suggest this one for divers who appreciate the story behind a site as much as the aquatic life.
