Rågø Flak - Bornholm

Strickland Reef is one of those spots on the Outer Reef where you really feel the scale of the Great Barrier Reef. We love that it’s usually less crowded than some of the closer-in sites, giving you more space to drift and explore. Dropping in, the water often has that deep indigo hue, hinting at the depths below. We’ve seen some seriously impressive schools of yellowstripe scad here, so dense they move like a shimmering curtain. Keep an eye out for the big Smith's cuttlefish, too; their colour changes are always a show. The corals here, especially the bracket and transverse varieties, form these incredible, intricate structures that are just begging for a closer look. Our favourite is spotting the smaller stuff, like the quirky Germain's blenny poking out from the reef. This site is a great pick for divers who enjoy a relaxed drift and appreciate the subtle beauty of a healthy, mature reef system rather than just chasing pelagics.
