UST-87 - Bornholm

Bornholm isn't always the first place that springs to mind for wreck diving, but the UST-87 is a genuine standout. This isn't some broken-up debris field; she’s a beautifully preserved wooden fishing trawler, sunk in 1943. Dropping down to 33 metres, you'll feel the instant chill of the Baltic, but the reward is worth it. We love how intact she is; the bow still points purposefully, and you can see the structure of the wheelhouse, even some of the fishing gear scattered around. Exploring the UST-87 feels like stepping back in time. The wooden hull has softened over the decades, becoming a canvas for the Baltic’s unique brand of marine growth. You'll find feathery hydroids swaying with the gentle surge, and we've seen some surprisingly large cod tucked into the nooks and crannies. It's a proper atmospheric dive, perfect for those who appreciate history and the slow, quiet reclamation by the sea. Visibility can vary, so we'd suggest picking a calm day for the best experience. It's a deep dive, so bring your advanced cert and a good torch to peer into her secrets.
