Wreck of HDMS Indfødsretten - Bornholm

The Wreck of Unknown, Long Hope is a proper Scapa Flow experience, a ghost from the past tucked away from the more famous German fleet. We love diving this one because it feels like you've stumbled onto a secret. Dropping down, the visibility usually holds fairly well, letting the dark shape of the hull materialise out of the green. You can make out deck fittings, maybe an old porthole encrusted with jewel anemones, their tiny tentacles pulsing in the dim light. Exploring the various sections, you’ll often spot schools of sprat darting through the rusted metal, reflecting what little light penetrates from above. Look closely in the nooks and crannies for Risso’s Crabs, doing their slow-motion shuffle. This site suits divers who appreciate history and the slow reclamation by nature. It’s not about huge pelagics here, but the quiet satisfaction of touching something from a bygone era, now home to a new ecosystem. Our top tip: go on a calm day; the surface chop can make the descent less enjoyable.
