Barakouda Diving Centre - Corsica

We’re big fans of Corsica, and the dive scene here feels a little more intimate than some of the bigger Mediterranean destinations. The Barakouda Diving Centre site, while not the most famous, offers a solid Corsican dive. Our pick is always to head out in the morning; the light seems to hit the rock formations just right, casting long, dramatic shadows. You won't find huge pelagics here, though a fleeting glimpse of a Short-beaked Common Dolphin isn't unheard of. What you will get is a classic Med experience: we love exploring the small caves and overhangs. Look for the splash of red coral against the rock. The Variable Loggerhead Sponges are surprisingly tactile if you pay attention, and the Pink Plate Weeds drift with a quiet elegance. It’s a good spot for those who appreciate the subtle beauty of macro life and the quiet hum of a healthy reef, rather than chasing big, flashy encounters. Come here for a relaxed dive, maybe a second one if the conditions are calm, and enjoy the understated charm.
