Spiros Kartelias Dive Center - Alonissos Marine Park
The team at Spiros Kartelias Dive Center are the real deal, especially if you’re looking to push your diving further or even go pro. We love their serious commitment to PADI courses, right up to instructor level, which tells you a lot about the quality of their instruction. This isn't just a shop for quick fun dives, though they do those too. They're ideal if you want to properly learn in the beautiful, clear waters of Alonissos Marine Park, away from the more crowded Greek islands. Our favourite thing about diving with them is their intimate knowledge of the local sites. They’ve been here for years, and it shows in the way they point out a shy octopus peeking from a crevice or navigate the intricate swim-throughs of the Blue Cave. We’d suggest asking them about the shipwreck dives, particularly the Peristera wreck – it's something special, especially if you get there early before the day boats. Visibility around Alonissos often hits 30 metres, which makes those deeper wrecks feel less imposing and lets the sunlight really penetrate. Expect to feel that slight chill as you drop down, even if the surface is bathwater warm. They’re super professional, but still manage that relaxed, friendly Greek vibe.
