Plimmiri - wreck - Dodecanese

The Plimmiri wreck, off Rhodes’ quiet southern tip, is one of those Mediterranean surprises that keeps us coming back. It’s a fishing boat, fairly intact, resting upright on a sandy bottom at around 20 metres. We love how the light plays through the wheelhouse windows, creating these shimmering patterns as you fin past. You’ll find schools of damselfish flitting around the mast, and often a grumpy moray peeking from a hull opening. It’s a gentle dive, perfect for divers wanting a relaxed wreck experience without deep currents or complex navigation. Our favourite part is the stern, where the prop is still partially buried in the sand. Look closely for nudibranchs on the encrusting sponges there. Visibility here is usually fantastic, often pushing 30 metres, which makes for some great wide-angle photos. We’d suggest going in the morning; the water is calmer then and the sun hits the wreck just right. It’s a relatively small wreck, so you can take your time, poke around every corner, and still have plenty of bottom time left to just drift above it, watching the anthias swarm.
