LEO - Silfra & Thingvellir

LEO sits just off the coast in Silfra, not far from the well-known fissure. It’s an old fishing vessel, grounded back in 1978 and left to the elements. You won't find deep exploration here, as it's a shallow wreck, largely exposed and broken apart by decades of Icelandic weather and waves. What remains is a skeletal structure, spread across the seabed, which creates a fascinating, if subtle, habitat for local species. We've seen plenty of blennies darting between the rusty metal plates, and sometimes a sculpin tucked away in a crevice. It’s a dive for those who appreciate the stark beauty of a wreck reclaiming itself, rather than a full, intact vessel.
