With 185+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, dolphins, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales and ocean sunfish (mola mola) - Sandycove offers some of South Coast's richest muck diving. Water ranges 9-15°C, warmest July, August, September.
Sandycove is a popular sheltered shore dive on Ireland's south coast, ideal for beginners and training. It’s mostly sand and shingle with some rocks, shallow at just 6m. You'll likely spot crabs, blennies, and flatfish among the stones. It’s a reliable spot for getting wet and practising skills.
