TUDOR PRINCE - Comino

The Tudor Prince is a proper introduction to Maltese wreck diving, especially if you’re not quite ready for the deeper stuff. We love that it’s right there at 12 metres, accessible for just about any certified diver. She’s a big old girl, an 80-metre motor vessel driven aground back in '74, and now she’s broken into three distinct sections. You’ll spend most of your time exploring the bow, which is still quite intact and makes for some great swim-throughs. Our favourite part is the engine room, which you can easily penetrate; it’s spacious and still has some machinery visible, a real peek into her working life. Watch for damselfish darting between the metal beams and the occasional octopus peeking out from under a plate. The midsection is more rubble, but the stern, further out, still holds its shape, often surrounded by schools of small baitfish shimmering in the sunlight. It’s a site that feels historical, but also alive, a fantastic way to spend an hour underwater.
