GEORGIE - Al Hoceima

Georgie is one of those Mediterranean wrecks that just *feels* old, even if she’s not ancient history. Sunk in 1975, this 8.8m yacht rests shallow, around 10 metres, making it an ideal spot for extended bottom times and a relaxed exploration. We love how light filters down, illuminating the hull’s silhouette and the clouds of chromis that drift above it. This wreck isn’t about huge pelagics or dramatic drop-offs; it’s about the intimacy of a small vessel reclaimed by the sea. You can easily circumnavigate Georgie, peering into where the cabin once was, now a haven for moray eels and the occasional octopus tucked away. The growth on her structure is thick, a colourful tapestry of sponges and anemones that pulse gently with the surge. It’s our favourite kind of dive for a leisurely afternoon, especially if you’re looking to practice your wreck photography or just enjoy the quiet calm of a historical relic. For newer divers, it’s a brilliant introduction to wreck diving without any heavy currents or deep-water concerns. Just remember to take it slow and really look closely; there’s always something new to spot amongst the rust and the algae.
