With 140+ marine species recorded in the area - including dolphins, ocean sunfish (mola mola), octopuses, sea turtles and sperm whales - Laja de Fuera offers some of Al Hoceima's richest reef diving. Water ranges 16-23°C, warmest July, August, September.
Laja de Fuera, off Al Hoceima, offers a straightforward Mediterranean reef dive. We've found the coral formations here provide good shelter for smaller fish. It's a decent option for a relaxed dive, especially when other sites have stronger currents. Beginners will find it manageable.
