With 140+ marine species recorded in the area - including dolphins, ocean sunfish (mola mola), octopuses, sea turtles and sperm whales - RIBEL offers some of Al Hoceima's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 16-23°C, warmest July, August, September.
The RIBEL wreck in Al Hoceima offers a straightforward dive, sitting upright in about 15 metres of water. It’s a fishing vessel, and while it's classified as a "dangerous wreck" on the charts, that mostly means it's still very much a boat. We've seen schools of juvenile barracuda zipping around the superstructure and moray eels poking out from various nooks. It's not a huge wreck, but there’s enough to explore for a relaxed dive, especially if you're keen on seeing how marine life reclaims a man-made structure. We'd suggest this one for newer wreck divers or those looking for a chilled-out afternoon plunge.
