With 140+ marine species recorded in the area - including dolphins, ocean sunfish (mola mola), octopuses, sea turtles and sperm whales - STELLA CIRRUS offers some of Al Hoceima's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 16-23°C, warmest July, August, September.
The Stella Cirrus is an old trawler, sunk back in 1941, and now she sits upright in about 21 metres of water just off Al Hoceima. It’s a pretty accessible wreck, not too deep, making it a good spot for newer wreck divers or those looking for a relaxed dive. We’ve found the stern section is particularly interesting, with a fair amount of the superstructure still intact to poke around. Expect to see some decent-sized groupers holed up inside, along with schools of damselfish flitting over the decks. It’s not a massive wreck, but it's got enough character to make for an enjoyable afternoon dive.
