With 140+ marine species recorded in the area - including dolphins, ocean sunfish (mola mola), octopuses, sea turtles and sperm whales - The Gorgonian (Wreck) offers some of Al Hoceima's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 16-23°C, warmest July, August, September.
The Gorgonian wreck, resting at 26 metres, is a decent dive for those with some experience. It's a small coaster, now well-colonised by local fish and, as the name suggests, a few impressive gorgonian fans. We often see moray eels peeking from the holds and octopus tucked away. It's a solid intermediate wreck dive, easy to navigate, and a good afternoon out.
