NEPTUNO (PROBABLY) - Balearic Islands
Neptuno, or what we’re pretty sure is Neptuno, is a proper character. This isn't some ancient galleon, it’s a modern motor vessel, about 70 metres long, that decided to sink while under tow. You just have to admire its stubborn streak. It sits upright, mostly intact, an impressive hulk from about 10 metres down, making it perfect for divers who want decent bottom time without the pressure. We love how the light plays on the deck, filtering through the Balearic blue. It's an easy drift around the superstructure, past the bridge, and down to the stern. The wreck acts like a big, metal apartment block for barracuda, and we always find some grouper lurking in the darker corners. If you're into wreck penetration, there are a few safe spots to peek inside the holds, but we'd suggest bringing a torch – it gets dark fast. Best to hit this one mid-morning before the wind picks up; it can get a bit choppy if you leave it too late in the day.
