Dropping down, the sheer scale of the cargo ship hits you – she's broken, yes, but still incredibly imposing at 25 metres, and the story of her sinking during the Spanish Civil War feels palpable. It's a sombre, almost reverent dive. The wreck itself is a playground for macro life, especially around the stern section. We’ve spent ages here, finning slowly, spotting scorpionfish hunkered down on the plating and moray eels peeking from every crevice. Her broken hull plates, ripped apart by that storm, create dramatic swim-throughs, but they are narrow, so watch your buoyancy. It's a dive that rewards slow exploration rather than speedy transit, best suited for experienced divers comfortable with deep wrecks and the Mediterranean's occasionally fickle conditions.
