EL PINGANO - Cabo de Palos
El Pingano, just off Cabo de Palos, isn't deep. At only 10 metres, it's a perfect spot for newer divers, or anyone who just wants to take their time. What we love about this wreck is how much character she still has, even after all these years. She’s a fishing boat, mostly intact, though time and the sea have certainly left their mark. You can make out the bow, the stern, and even the remnants of her mast. Light filters through the gaps in the decking, highlighting the schools of damselfish that dart in and out of the shadows. Keep an eye out for octopus tucked into crevices; they’re often shy, but a patient diver might catch a glimpse. For us, the joy here is in the quiet exploration, weaving through the structure, imagining her working life. It’s a gentle dive, never rushed, and always leaves us with a sense of peace.
