Pecios del C B A - Cabo de Palos

The Pecios del C B A, or the ‘CBA Wrecks’ as we know them, aren’t just one wreck, but several, scattered across the seafloor off Cabo de Palos. It’s a fascinating jumble of history, a fleet sunk during the Spanish Civil War. We love the way the different vessels blend, creating a kind of artificial reef park. You can spend a whole dive just picking through the twisted metal, imagining the chaos that brought them down. There are cargo holds to peer into, engine rooms to skirt around, and the occasional blast from the past like an old ceramic plate or a fallen davit. The wrecks aren’t deep, mostly around 20-30 metres, which gives you plenty of bottom time to explore. Keep an eye out for the resident moray eels peeking from portholes and the schools of glinting barracuda that often hang lazily above the superstructures. It’s a site that really rewards a slow, methodical approach, letting you soak in the atmosphere. Definitely one of our favourite wreck dives in the Med.
