S.S. L’ILLA /CARBONERO - Cabo de Palos

Down at 36 metres, the S.S. L’ILLA, or *Carbonero* as the locals call her, sits upright on the seabed off Cabo de Palos. This isn't a wreck for the faint-hearted; we're talking expert-level diving here, thanks to the depth and occasional currents. What you get is a solid, intact cargo ship, her holds open and inviting for a careful penetration if you're qualified and prepped. Look for the big groupers sheltering in the darker corners and clouds of damselfish swirling around the superstructure. It's a proper wreck dive, dark and moody, best suited for those who appreciate history beneath the waves and have the experience to enjoy it safely.
