Bosse du Chameau - Medes Islands

Bosse du Chameau is one of those spots in the Medes Islands that just feels *right*. We love dropping in here, particularly on a calm morning, and letting the gentle current guide us around the pinnacle. You often start shallow, maybe 10-12 metres, surrounded by schools of salema glinting in the sunlight, before descending deeper. The real magic unfolds as you trace the reef down to the deeper ledges, where you’ll find those big dusky groupers hanging out, often near the pink sea fans. Keep an eye out for moonfish cruising by in the blue, and if you have a good torch, poke into the crevices for Mediterranean tooth-footed snapping shrimp – they’re tiny but fascinating. We’ve had some cracking encounters here with common cuttlefish, too, often hovering just off the reef. It’s a site that rewards slow exploration, taking your time to really absorb the details. This is definitely one for divers who appreciate healthy Mediterranean reef ecosystems and don’t need roaring currents to feel alive.
